‘Terrifier 3’ unveils “horrifying” popcorn bucket

Terrifier 2

Fans have been reacting to a popcorn bucket of Art The Clown in Terrifier 3.

The bucket – essentially a latex head of the horror character – has been unveiled in a short video clip, which you can view below.

Much like the forthcoming film which centres on a killing spree at Christmas, the popcorn bucket also has a festive theme.

One fan in the comments section described the bucket as “horrifying”, while another said: “I wouldn’t want to eat popcorn out of this.”

It is the latest in a long line of popcorn buckets which first gained traction with Dune: Part Two’s bucket, which went viral due to its suggestive look.

This was followed by a Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket which featured Wolverine’s mouth open in a similarly suggestive pose and also went viral.

Elsewhere, Alien: Romulus designed popcorn buckets were also praised by fans.

Meanwhile, the trailer for Terrifier 3 was shared at the end of last month.

Writer and director Damien Leone and Priscilla Smith, president and founder of French distributors The Coven, recently revealed that the third entry in the franchise will amp up the gore even more than its predecessors, and will carry a significantly larger budget.

The original film in the slasher series, Terrifier, came out in 2018. Written and directed by Damien Leone on a budget of just $35,000, it kicked up a storm on social media thanks to its high levels of gore and earned enough at the box office for Terrifier 2 to be green-lit.

Made for around $250,000 (£191,228), the sequel (again helmed by Leone) built on this reputation, reportedly causing people to pass out in cinemas and taking more than $15million (£11.5million) globally. Later, it was submitted for Oscars consideration in a fan-driven campaign led by horror specialist publication Bloody Disgusting, though came away empty-handed.

While Terrifier 3 carries a Christmas theme, you can expect to catch it in cinemas around Halloween season, as it’s set for an October 11 release.
