The 1975‘s Matty Healy is set to make an appearance with his mum Denise Welch in the forthcoming series of Celebrity Hunted.

Welch and her husband Lincoln Townley were announced in the line-up for the new series which airs on Channel 4 on January 5 at 9pm BST earlier this month. The show sees pairs going on the run while ‘hunters’ try and chase them down.

Now fans, have been sharing a clip from the show which sees Welch evade the hunters to meet Healy backstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2023, during filming for the show. The band headlined the event that year.

In it the frontman says: “Seriously what’s been going on? It’s been mental. I’ve been sending random messages to your phone.”

Welch then interjects: “They’ve [the hunters] have got our phone,” before Healy adds: “Well I’ve been saying I’ll meet you in Sunderland and stuff.”

The couple are then seen dancing at the side of the stage while the band perform.

In the past, Welch has previously said that she is seen as “the Virgin Mary” among The 1975‘s fanbase.

Elsewhere, Healy recently caught the attention of fans by sharing a mysterious new update online last month, which many are speculating is the tracklist to a new album from The 1975.

The Manchester band haven’t shared a new album since they dropped their fifth record, ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’, back in 2022.

Elsewhere, Azealia Banks recently issued a cease & desist letter to Healy and demanded $1million (£790,000) in damages after an online altercation between the two musicians earlier this month (December 4), in which Healy rounded on Banks after she criticised his friend and collaborator Charli XCX.

Charli XCX is engaged to Healy’s 1975 bandmate George Daniel – the latter of whom earned co-writing and production credits on his fiancé’s latest album, ‘Brat’. He is credited on ‘Club Classics’ – where Charli declares “I wanna dance with George” – and the viral hit ‘Apple’ (Daniel recently did the viral dance to the latter song during the ‘Brat’ tour).

Healy and Daniel also created a 1975 re-working of Charli’s track ‘I Might Say Something Stupid’ for her new ‘Brat’ remix album. During an interview in October, the pop star said Healy was “like [her] brother now”.
