The Alchemist Shares List of Rappers He Was Never Able to Work With

The Alchemist has made beats for legends like Nas, Mobb Deep, and The LOX and has found himself in the middle of memorable rap beefs like Lil Kim versus Foxy Brown and Drake versus Kendrick Lamar. However, there a still several legends he never got a chance to work with.

The West Coast producer took to Instagram recently and shared an old list he came across of beats he wanted to send out to DMX, Method Man, Redman, and Nas, among others. “I found an old list of beats I was sending to rappers at the time, had to be in the early 2000’s,” he wrote in the caption. “Getting the right beat to the right person has always been an important part of the process to me. Never landed one with the dog unfortunately. Or Red & Meth. Imagine tho. I save everything. Got boxes full of sh—t. Maybe one day I’ll make a book.”

Aside from never getting a production placement with DMX, Method Man, and Redman, he also hasn’t worked directly with Jay-Z. Last year, he told fellow producer Cardo that the Brooklyn mogul has been on his for “100 years.”

Jigga rapped over an Alchemist beat on “The Neverending Story” from Jay Electronica‘s debut album A Written Testimony, but he didn’t work directly with him.

The illustrious producer is already having a busy year in 2025. He collaborated with unlikely duo Larry June and 2 Chainz on a full length project and set to release Forensics alongside Yasiin Bey (formally known as Mos Def.)
