The best weapons in ‘Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’ DLC
Elden Ring‘s DLC introduces dozens and dozens of new weapons. But on top of the original weapons in the game and these new ones, you may be wondering if it is worth upgrading any of them or switching up your build. Well, we have combed through the full list of weapons in the DLC and put together a list of the best weapons in the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Below, you can find a breakdown of the best weapons across stats, damage types, and for different types of builds – from dexterity to bleed-damage to fast, martial arts builds.
‘Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’ DLC best weapons
The best weapons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree are:
- Black Steel Greathammer – best strength weapon
- Greatsword of Solitude – best strength weapon
- Star-Lined Sword – best dexterity weapon
- Spear of the Impaler – best dexterity weapon
- Lightning Perfume Bottle – best Faith weapon
- Dryleaf Arts – best martial arts weapon
- Great Katana – best bleed weapon
Black Steel Greathammer
The Black Steel Greathammer is a 25 strength, 17 Faith weapon found extremely early in the DLC. It comes with a powerful guard-countering skill that releases a gold, holy damage explosion that can knock enemies off balance, deal a ton of damage, and leave your enemies open to critical attacks.
The weapon is located in the Church of Consolidation from a Black Knight in the Gravesite Plain.
Greatsword of Solitude
The Greatsword of Solitude can be obtained by defeating the Blackgaol Knight in the Western Nameless Mausoleum in the Gravesite Plain, the first area of the game. It is one of the strongest strength-focused swords in the game now, and you will probably have felt its might after getting hit by it during the boss battle in the mausoleum.
It is a good weapon for pure strength builds thanks to its excellent scaling, and more complex stat spreads would be better off with another option.
Star-Lined Sword
The Star-Lined Sword has become one of the strongest katanas in the game. It has an extremely strong skill that conjures up several magic-based swings that have a huge range and deal increasing damage with each hit. It is able to both dominate against groups of enemies and do significant damage against single-targets.
You can get the Star-Lined Sword from the West Cerulean Coast by defeating the Demi-Human Queen Marigga boss.
Spear of the Impaler
The Spear of the Impaler can be obtained from the Remembrance of Messmer, the Impaler. After defeating him, you can use his remembrance back at the Roundtable Hold to obtain the extremely strong weapon.
The weapon requires a high 35 dexterity stat and a large 18 faith stat. Therefore, it is best for a blended dexterity/faith build. It also has a unique heavy attack that allows you to throw the spear, and when fully charged, that spear will explode and set the ground on fire. This makes it a great weapon for non-mobile foes.
Lightning Perfume Bottle
The perfume bottles are a brand new weapon type in the DLC. These are ranged, magic based weapons that spray lightning in an area through perfumed powder. The Lightning Bottles are one of the first you can earn in the north-east of the Cerulean Coast.
The weapons scale with both dexterity and faith. If you are looking for an unconventional weapon that can do insane amounts of damage with the right build, these are capable of destroying the bosses in the DLC in seconds.
Dryleaf Arts
Another new weapon type in the DLC is hand-to-hand arts. These are effectively martial arts, not relying on a weapon. Using your fists, the Dryleaf Arts can be one of the strongest weapons in the game when levelled with strength and dexterity.
You can find this weapon fairly quickly by defeating Dryleaf Dane in Scadu Altus, which can be obtained before you even kill a boss, just north of Castle Ensis.
Great Katana
Another new weapon type in the DLC is the Great Katana. This is the best bleed weapon in the DLC now that the Bloodfiend’s Arm has been nerfed. It has a lot of scalability with dexterity, arcane, and strength, making it incredibly flexible.
Bleed is the strongest damage type in the game and a lot of bosses in the game are weak to it. The Great Katana can be found next to the Ghostflame Dragon in the Abandoned Ailing Village.
