The Black Label tease their first K-pop girl group, MEOVV
K-pop company The Black Label have announced the upcoming debut of its first girl group, MEOVV.
The Black Label launched official social media accounts and posted the first wave of teasers for MEOVV earlier today (August 16). An animated clip of the group’s logo was also posted, featuring an illustration of a black-and-white cat’s paw with its claws out, embellished with piercings and charms that spell out the group’s name.

On YouTube, The Black Label dropped a vertical teaser for MEOVV’s debut. The brief clip shows a large cover being taken off a building over a time lapse of the street, with five giant black cats perched atop. This seems to hint that the group will have five members.
Specifics such as debut date, members, tracklist and planned promotions for MEOVV’s debut are expected in the coming weeks.
The Black Label is home to several other popular K-pop musicians, such as soloist Somi, Big Bang‘s Taeyang and BLACKPINK’s Rosé. The company was founded by longtime YG Entertainment producer Teddy, best known for his work on BLACKPINK’s discography.
In other K-pop news, girl group Weki Meki have officially disbanded as of August 6, as announced by their label Fantagio Music on August 16. Their disbandment was announced as early as June this year, and five of eight total members have chosen not to renew their contracts with the company.
