The announcement of the tour comes as the band are celebrating over three decades since the release of their first single ‘She Made Me / Evergreen’, which arrived in 1992, and as they’re coming up to the 30th anniversary of their 1995 debut album ‘Methodrone’.
The controversial documentary that followed the band, Dig!, which is still hailed as one of the best rock documentaries ever made, is also celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, and a remastered, expanded version premiered at Sundance in January.
Since forming the group, Newcombe has gone on to share a further 20 albums under the Brian Jonestown Massacre moniker with a range of different members. The most recent of which, ‘The Future Is Your Past’, arrived in February 2023 via the frontman’s record label A Recordings.
The upcoming tour dates will mark their first since they completed a massive world tour across 2022 and 2023, which saw them play 34 dates in North America, 25 dates across Europe and 16 dates in the UK.
Last winter, the band also made headlines for shocking fans in Melbourne, Australia, when members began brawling among themselves onstage mid-performance.
