An Australian, a Brit and a South Korean walk into a room. In a brief press release announcing the song, The Kid LAROI wrote, “Too Much w/ Jung Kook & Central Cee October 20th. Album in November — it’s finally time…” The new single will serve as LAROI’s latest taste of his forthcoming debut studio album, The First Time. Two days ago, LAROI posted a photo of himself and Jung Kook to his Instagram page, writing “me & JK ✌️🥹🖤🔜 #toomuch” in the caption.

On Tuesday (Oct. 10), the two-time Grammy nominee posted a teaser of what appears to be a music video for the new track. The brief clip finds each artist bopping along to a snippet of the song’s funky instrumental, with the final frame listing the single’s release times in New York City, Seoul, London and Sydney. In his caption, LAROI noted that his upcoming album is now available for pre-oder.

The announcement of “Too Much” is the latest exciting moment in a year full of them for all three artists. At the very top of the year, The Kid LAROI earned his fourth top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Love Again” (No. 40), which served as the lead single for The First Time. The track also earned LAROI a nomination for song of the year at the 2023 ARIA Music Awards.

“Too Much” is poised to be the third consecutive chart-busting collaboration from Jung Kook this year. The BTS member dominated the latter half of the summer with his Hot 100-topping Latto collaboration “Seven,” and he returned to chart’s top five this week with the debut of his Jack Harlow-assisted “3D.” As for Central Cee, “Too Much” will follow the chart-topping U.K. smash “Sprinter” (with Dave) and “On the Radar Freestyle” (with Drake), which became the British rapper’s first Hot 100 entry (No. 80).
