‘The Last Of Us’ creators announce sci-fi game ‘Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’
The Last Of Us creators Naughty Dog have confirmed details of their next project – ambitious sci-fi game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Announced last night (December 12) at The Game Awards, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be scored by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. “Our incredible voyage into the cosmos also needs an equally incredible soundtrack. These guys are cooking,” said Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann in an announcement post.
The first taste of the collab came via an ominous teaser trailer – check it out below.
“Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago,” reads the official description, with Jordan voiced by Tati Gabrielle (The 100, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, You).
“In fact, anyone who’s flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.”
Naughty Dog say development started on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet back in 2020 and is “shaping up to be our wildest, most creative story yet” but a release date has yet to be confirmed.

The studio is keeping the finer points of the game under wraps for the time being. “What we can tell you is that this game lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey,” the studio continued.
“Our narrative goals are rivalled only by our gameplay ambitions. This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we’ve ever done before.”
It was previously confirmed that the actor behind The Last Of Us’ Joel, Troy Baker, will also feature in the cast for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
In other news, the first trailer for Borderlands 4 has been released, soundtracked by Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Starburster’
