There’s a special ‘Fortnite’ PlayStation controller coming out
Sony has confirmed details of a special, Fortnite-inspired PlayStation controller that’s due for release later this year.
The colourful, limited-edition DualSense wireless controller features fan-favorite Fortnite characters Fishstick and Peely and will cost fans £74.99.
“Drop into the action and defy the Storm as you build, battle, and create with the new DualSense wireless controller – Fortnite Limited Edition,” said Sony about the controller.
Pre-orders for the controller will go live October 3 via the PlayStation store ahead of a full launch on November 7.

The Fortnite controller isn’t the only bit of limited edition tech Sony has unveiled in recent weeks. In honour of the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation, the company released a special, throwback version of the upcoming PS5 Pro. Pre-orders for it went live yesterday (September 26) and, despite a hefty £960 price tag, it sold out within seconds.
The limited edition consoles are currently being resold for several thousand even though they’re not being shipped until November. According to eBay, their “price gouging policy only applies to essential items, and does not include items such as video game consoles.”
It comes ahead of Sony’s new mid-cycle upgrade, the PlayStation 5 Pro. Described as “the most visually impressive way to play games on PlayStation”, the digital-only console will set players back £700 but will offer a range of upgrades that will make their gaming experience look better.
Defending the cost of the console, PlayStation senior principal project manager Toshi Aoki explained that “it’s more of a full package that will give that exceptional value to the players” and Sony is only targeting “the most engaged players” with the PS5 Pro.
In other news, Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws is not selling as well as expected. However, developers are “hard at work” on several updates that will position the game as “a strong long-term performer.” These include a Steam launch, a number of fixes and a new, story expansion that features Lando Calrissian.
