These are the best-selling vinyl albums and singles of 2025 so far
The best-selling vinyl albums and singles of 2025 so far have been revealed, with Sam Fender, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga among the names listed. Check it out below.
When it comes to vinyl albums, it is Newcastle singer, songwriter and guitarist Sam Fender who has topped the list thanks to his massive third album ‘People Watching’. Released in February, the record landed the biggest UK opening week for a British act since Harry Styles‘ ‘Harry’s House‘. It also marked Fender’s biggest-ever opening week, selling more units than 2019’s debut ‘Hypersonic Missiles‘ and 2021’s ‘Seventeen Going Under‘ combined.
On the charts, it is closely followed by Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover (Live From Paris)’ record, which was originally shared in 2023 but had a resurgence earlier this year thanks to a heart-shaped 2LP vinyl variant that came in time for Valentine’s Day.
Rounding out the Top Five are Sabrina Carpenter with her hit album ‘Short N’ Sweet’, Lady Gaga with her recently released LP ‘MAYHEM’ and former NME Cover Star Chappell Roan with her breakthrough record ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’.

Others that made the list were Fontaines D.C. with ‘Romance’, Manic Street Preachers with ‘Critical Thinking’, Billie Eilish with ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ and FKA Twigs with ‘EUSEXUA’. Check out the list below via Official Charts.

In a four-star review of Sam Fender’s hit album ‘People Watching’, NME wrote: “Reflective, analytical and vulnerable, ‘People Watching’ does exactly what the title may suggest: takes stock of the characters, friends and loved ones who have made Fender the person he is today.
“He approaches each track with sensitivity as he looks back on his life so far – perhaps even with an inkling of guilt – and contemplates who he may be next.”
As for Lola Young, the singer spoke to NME at the BRIT Awards 2025 last month and reflected on the huge success of ‘Messy’. “I’m just taking it all in my stride and taking each day as it comes. I’m really proud of the song,” she said.
“I think it’s the idea that you don’t have to be this thing that stereotypers want women to be. It’s not even just that though, because everyone can feel like they’re not enough for somebody. ‘I want to be me, is that not allowed?’ – that’s a great lyric! I’m very proud of it and it feels like it’s resonating with people on a wider scale [than I expected].”
As for Taylor Swift, earlier this week it was reported that the singer has three albums amongst the top four best-selling vinyl albums of the last decade, with her 2022 project ‘Midnights’ topping the list.
