This ‘Black Myth: Wukong’ mod adds ‘Dragonball Z’ characters into the game
Hit new game Black Myth: Wukong has had one of the biggest launches ever. It’s inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the West, which also inspired legendary anime Dragon Ball. Now, a mod has added characters from the show into the game.
Black Myth: Wukong outsold Elden Ring in just one week, rapidly becoming one of the most concurrently played games of all time, selling over 14million units on PC storefront Steam alone. That means over 14million people could download this new mod that adds Goku to the game.
Both Goku and Black Myth: Wukong protagonist The Destined One are inspired by Monkey King Sun Wukong from the legendary story. As reported by IGN, the mod simply replaces the default character model with Goku. So, that means you can’t use Goku’s anime superpowers like his iconic kamehameha or going Super Saiyan, but you’ll be able to use all of The Destined One’s abilities as normal.
“Should have added the tail…” reads one comment from vadordarth496. In the original anime, Goku has a monkey tail, a nod to the inspiration of the Monkey King himself. Other comments point out that the Japanese translation of Sun Wukong is Son Goku.
You can download the Son Goku mod from Nexus Mods, right here. It has already been downloaded over 610 times. It’s no easy feat, but fortunately there is a video guide within the mod description page to help players with their installations.
You’ll also likely need quite a powerful PC to actually run mods successfully, as many of the game’s PC reviews mention performance issues, even on high-end machines.
If you want to try out this mod for yourself and take on all of Black Myth: Wukong‘s bosses, you can find them all here.
In other news, GTA 6 PC players may have to wait a long time for the game to launch on their platform.
