“This looks amazing, and completely bananas”: Fans react to “bonkers” Robbie Williams biopic ‘Better Man’ trailer
Fans have been reacting to the new trailer for Robbie Williams‘ forthcoming biopic Better Man.
As previously reported, – the singer is reimagined as a CGI monkey, in the movie, which documents his life. You can view him going ape in the new trailer below.
According to a synopsis: “Better Man is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Under the visionary direction of Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman), the film is uniquely told from Williams’ perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit.
“It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring.”

Much of the biopic was filmed at Docklands Studios in Melbourne, with financial support coming from Film Victoria’s Victorian Screen Incentive and the Producer Offset credit.
Williams’ songwriter and close friend Guy Chambers previously told NME that Better Man would “reimagine” the pop icon’s seminal hits.
“I know Michael Gracey who is directing it, and he’s a bit of a genius,” Chambers said at the time.
“The only thing I know about it so far is that the songs will be reimagined in the film, I do know that. It’s going to be a bit like they did with the Elton [John] biopic.”
Elsewhere, Williams recently told fans that a new album is coming soon, and revealed that he is also working on “building hotels”.
He also had his say on the Oasis reunion tour, which will take place across the UK and Ireland next summer.
The singer had a famous feud with the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, in the 1990s. Noel referred to him as “the fat dancer from Take That”, while Robbie went on to challenge Liam to a £100,000 fight at the 2000 Brit Awards.
“The soap opera alone will either be exciting and or ghoulish to watch. As for the shows? They’re gonna be incredible, off-the-scale special,” Williams recently said before going as far as calling it a “healing moment for our country.”
He continued: “Liam Gallagher reading his phone on the toilet would be more charismatic and intriguing than 99.9% of the world’s population at their most enigmatic. All he has to do is stand there and sing for the audience to be guaranteed their money’s worth,” before having a slight jibe at his brother: “Noel will be there too.”
Better Man is due for release in the UK on Boxing Day (December 26) and in select cinemas in the US on Christmas Day (December 25). It recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
