Thurston Moore announces new album ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’
Thurston Moore has announced a new album, ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’ – find out more below.
Yesterday (June 20), the Sonic Youth co-founder, guitarist and vocalist, revealed ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’. The album will be his ninth solo offering, and is due for release on September 20 via Daydream Library Series. Pre-orders and pre-saving for the album are available now.
The album has been previewed by a new single, ‘San Limites’, which features as Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier. Moore said of the new track in a statement via CLASH: “‘Sans Limites’ begins with a cyclic guitar and piano figure which expands further and further with each revolution before settling into a two-chord measure introducing lyrics intoning not only about eradicating any limitations towards enlightenment, but going beyond limitations. The idea that a soldier can fight the good fight. A warrior against war.”

‘San Limites’ is the fourth track to be released from the upcoming album: ‘Isadora’ (which will only be available as a bonus track on the clear flexi disc version of the album), ‘Hypnogram’ and ‘Rewilding’.

5. We Get High

‘Flow Critical Lucidity’ also marks Moore’s first album since he released his Sonic Life memoir. He was forced to cancel book tour dates due to “a longstanding health condition.” In October last year, he revealed that he had been struggling with atrial fibrillation for several years but is doing better now.
