Tommy Richman Joins The Weeknd, Drake, SZA & Bruno Mars in Historic Chart Feat

Tommy Richman blasted off this summer with his breakthrough single “Million Dollar Baby,” and the song is still holding strong.

This week, on the Sept. 21-dated charts, the song spends a 20th week at No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, making it just the seventh song in the chart’s 12-year history to reach the milestone. Here’s a look at the songs with the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the chart:

Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs

  • 48 weeks, “Blinding Lights,” The Weeknd (2020-21)
  • 32, “Snooze,” SZA (2023-24)
  • 30, “Kill Bill,” SZA (2022-23)
  • 20, “One Dance,” Drake feat. WizKid & Kyla (2016)
  • 20, “Starboy,” The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk (2016-17)
  • 20, “That’s What I Like,” Bruno Mars (2017)
  • 20, “Million Dollar Baby,” Tommy Richman (2024)

Richman makes history, though, as the first artist to earn a 20-week No. 1 hit on Hot R&B Songs with a debut chart single.

“Million Dollar Baby,” which hasn’t left the top spot since it debuted at No. 1 on the May 11-dated chart, continues its No. 1 run with 51.4 million radio airplay audience impressions, 16 million U.S. streams and 2,000 downloads sold in the Sept. 6-12 tracking week, according to Luminate. It also ranks at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, after peaking at No. 2.

While “Million Dollar Baby” has been holding strong, Richman is now competing against himself. He has two other songs on the latest Hot R&B Songs chart: follow-up single “Devil Is a Lie” (No. 5; down from its No. 3 peak) and “Thought You Were the One” (No. 18, after debuting at No. 9 last week). He also stands as a featured act on Brent Faiyaz’s “Upset,” also featuring Felix, at No. 11.
