Tove Lo responds to Megan Thee Stallion’s request to collaborate: “I’m so ready”

Megan Thee Stallion and Tove Lo

Tove Lo has responded to Megan Thee Stallion’s request for the two to work together on new music.

At a show in Phoenix this week (June 19), Megan picked up a sign from the crowd and made a public appeal to the Swedish singer that they should work on a collaboration some time.

“Tove Lo, I don’t know if you’re seeing this, but we gotta do a song, because they’re not fucking around,” Megan said. “Somebody record this for my girl and tell her we need a song.”

Now, Tove has given her reply, and it seems like the collab is on. “I’m so ready @theestallion,” she wrote on X. “Let me know where and when.”

Megan will release her third studio album ‘Megan’ this week (June 28) via her independent label Hot Girl Productions. She announced the record at the start of the month, sharing the cover art, which shows her emerging from a cocoon in a lab. Pre-save the album here.

She has recently revealed the full track list for ‘Megan’, which includes collaborations with Victoria Monét and GloRilla.

The album will see Monét guesting on ‘Spin’ and GloRilla making an appearance on ‘Accent’, while a reunited UGK, including the late Pimp C, feature on ‘Paper Together’. Kyle Ricch is on ‘B.A.S.’ and Yuki Chiba guests on ‘Mamushi’, while the previously released singles ‘Cobra’, ‘Hiss’ and ‘Boa’ are included as expected.

Megan, meanwhile, recently replaced Tyler, The Creator as a headliner at this year’s Lollapalooza after he was forced to withdraw for personal reasons. Megan’s slot will be on Thursday, August 1.

Next month, she will be playing a run of UK and European shows, kicking off in Glasgow on July 4, and taking in Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Dublin, Birmingham and wrapping in London’s The O2 on July 17. See the full details here and find any remaining tickets here.

Earlier this year, Megan confirmed that she had signed a new record deal with Warner Music. “This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter of my life and career,” she explained in a statement.

Under the agreement, the artist’s independent entertainment and music entity, Hot Girl Productions, will release her music projects, while Warner Music Group and its international affiliates will assist with services including radio promotion and global marketing.

Tove Lo, meanwhile, released an EP with SG Lewis last week (June 14), a four-track dance project.

Speaking to NME about the inspiration for the project, Lo said: “We’re trying to highlight other people and the queer community more than ourselves in the videos. The through line is someone discovering their full self for the first time in a club space – in Club Heat.”
