Travis Kelce Shares What He’s Learned From Taylor Swift About Music: ‘It’s Very Eye-Opening’
Travis Kelce doesn’t need to attend any of the several Taylor Swift-centered college classes being taught at universities across the world — he gets to learn from the master herself.
While promoting his spring music festival Kelce Jam, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gushed about what he’s learned about music and live shows from his superstar girlfriend, whose global Eras Tour he’s attended several times in the past year. “It’s definitely been fun to experience her taste in music, for sure,” he told Entertainment Tonight Tuesday (April 2).
“She’s so amazing at what she does, and to find that creativity to see where she likes to pull things from, and just really how she listens to music, it’s very eye-opening to me,” he added.
Kelce also confirmed that he plans on attending some of Swift’s upcoming shows in Europe — “You know I gotta go support!” — and said that the “Anti-Hero” singer’s music is featured in his “everyday playlist.”
“We’re both very career driven,” he continued. “We both love what we do. Any chance that I can show my support to her, and knowing that she’s shown me all the support in the world throughout the season — it’s just been an amazing experience getting to know Tay.”
The Ohio native spent Tuesday speaking with a number of publications about Kelce Jam, which will feature a lineup led by Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan., on May 18. He told Billboard during his press day that both artists have been two of his favorites since high school, adding, “I think this is going to be the last hoo-rah for me this year, celebrating the [2024] Super Bowl with the city of Kansas City because of how much I appreciate and love them.”
While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter, he touched on how witnessing Swift’s Eras Tour has inspired his Kelce Jam planning. “She’s on a whole other stratosphere,” he said. “She’s the best at what she does for a reason. It’s because she’s so articulate and just very dialed into every single thing that she does. And that’s the beauty of it.”
“I’d be silly if I ever tried to take anything from what she does, other than just enjoy the people that show up,” he continued. “I think that’s one thing I could probably take away: She really relates to the people she’s performing in front of, and so I’ll take that.”
