Travis Scott breaks Tottenham Hotspur Stadium record at his biggest show to date
Travis Scott has broken a record at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, after performing what was his biggest headline show to date.
The rapper is currently halfway through his series of UK and European live shows, taking place as part of his ‘Utopia: Circus Maximus tour’. It kicked off with an opening night at the GelreDome venue in Arnhem on June 28, before continuing throughout July with stops in Krakow (2), Zurich (4), Nice (6) and Antwerk (9).
From there, he headed over to the UK for two shows – performing at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 11 and Manchester’s Co-Op Live on July 13.
Now, it has been confirmed that the London gig was his biggest show to date, and saw him draw in over 48,500 attendees and gross more than $6.6million (£5.1million) from that one night alone. He also broke the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium merchandise sales record for any event to date at the stadium, including the NFL.
Now 50 per cent of the way through the tour, the shows have already been found to have grossed over $23.6million (£18.2million), and seen just shy of 200,000 fans flock in to see him at the first seven dates.
It comes as Scott also garnered huge numbers for the North American leg of his tour, which ran for 44 shows and grossed $95.7million (£73.8million), with an attendance of 686,000.
The UK and European leg of the tour continues tonight (July 16), with a performance in Hamburg at Barclays Arena. This will be followed by stops in Prague, Cologne, Milan, Frankfurt, and Madrid, before concluding at Lisbon’s MEO Arena on August 4.
£1/€1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Cactus Jack Foundation – an organisation dedicated to uplifting Houston youth through toy drives, scholarship programmes for HBCU college students, and supporting educational and creative endeavours. So far, the EU/UK leg of the tour has seen $250,000 (£192,783) donated. Visit here to find out more, and buy remaining tickets to the forthcoming live shows here.
Travis Scott’s remaining ‘Circus Maximus’ tour dates are:
16 –Germany, Hamburg @ Barclays Arena
18 – Czech Republic, Prague @ O2 Arena
20 – Germany, Cologne @ RheinEnergieSTADION
23 – Italy, Milan @ Ippodromo SNAI La Maura
27 – Germany, Frankfurt @ Deutsche Bank Park
Scott’s live shows come in celebration of his album, ‘Utopia’, which became the biggest-selling hip-hop release of 2022 – spending four weeks at the top of the Billboard Top 200 and gathering over 50billion streams globally. It was also named the most streamed album in its first week in 2023 by Spotify, and Apple Music confirmed the biggest first-day streams of an album in 2023.
It was given a three-star review by NME, who described it as having a “lofty concept”, but “shaky execution”.
“By going back to the sound of his early work, Scott steps back into the gargantuan shadow of his mentor, Kanye West,” it read. “Whereas ‘Astroworld’ was the perfect theme for Scott’s music – we’re going to a theme park! – in trying to navigate a lofty concept like finding utopia, his ambitions have led him back to someone who was far more formidable at it.”
