Travis Scott may have a “major” role in WWE soon
According to reports, Travis Scott may have a “major” role in WWE soon, following his appearance at last weekend’s Elimination Chamber.
Last Saturday (March 1), Elimination Chamber was held at Toronto’s Rogers Centre and saw John Cena winning the titular match, punching his ticket to WrestleMania to face current WWE Undisputed champion Cody Rhodes. If he beats Rhodes, Cena would become the most decorated world champion in WWE history with 17 world championships.
Afterwards, Cena turned heel (became a villain) for the first time in his 20-plus year-long career. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – who is currently performing under his “Final Boss” maniac authority figure gimmick – demanded that Rhodes “sell his soul” to him in return for becoming the corporate chosen one.
Rhodes declined the offer, telling Johnson to “go fuck yourself”, before receiving a hug from Cena. However, after receiving a signal from Johnson, Cena turned on Rhodes and aggressively beat him down.
Travis Scott had accompanied The Rock to the ring and watched the whole ordeal, even joining in with Cena’s brutal attack by kicking Rhodes while he was down. Many fans have complained that the rapper hit Rhodes harder than he was supposed to (or “stiffed” him) while raining blows to Rhodes’ face.
According to Fightful Select, there were already plans for Scott to get into the squared circle back in January.
The Grammy award-winning rapper already has a good relationship with WWE – serving as an ambassador for the promotion by making appearances at press conferences with Rey Mysterio, escorting Jey Uso to the ring during the premiere of Raw on Netflix. He also lent his latest Number One single ‘4X4’ to be Raw‘s new opening theme.
In a new report, they revealed that – although those Fightful talked to in WWE weren’t aware of plans for Scott to be involved in the John Cena heel turn angle – sources said the “wheels were already in motion” for Scott to be a part of a “major angle”.
Fightful also reported that Scott has been doing wrestling training, with one source telling them he was training at a WWE legend’s wrestling school. However, WWE sources were not able to confirm what wrestling school this was.
There is currently no timeframe as to when fans can see the ‘FE!N’ rapper in the squared circle – nor has Scott, The Rock, John Cena or Triple H (WWE’s Chief Content Officer) confirmed the rumours.

Sexyy Red also revealed that she was offered a more permanent role in WWE television, this time on the NXT brand. In a recent interview, she said she could have been a wrestler had she found the time to train properly, so she settled for a cameo instead.
During her first appearance, she unveiled the new Women’s North American Championship belt and helped Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams win a tag-team match. The second time around, Red hosted the premium live event Battleground and hung out with wrestling legend Shawn Michaels backstage, teaching the Hall of Famer how to twerk. Back in October was her last time on NXT, giving a speech (or “cutting a promo”) in the ring before getting cut off by heel star Ethan Page.
Other rappers have involved themselves with the WWE – including Megan Thee Stallion and RM, whose song ‘Neva Play’ soundtracks WWE’s third brand, Smackdown. Bad Bunny and Snoop Dogg have also fought in the squared circle – the former once held the now-defunct 24/7 championship.
Scott was not the only rap star to be in attendance at Elimination Chamber, with both Drake and Lil Yachty seen sitting in the front row at the Rogers Centre. Drake’s appearance was particularly noteworthy given it came just days after he had pushed back four shows in Australia and New Zealand due to a “scheduling conflict”.
Elsewhere, Scott said that wrestling “might be better than performing” during a backstage video shared by WWE’s Chief Content Officer and former wrestler Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. “It was like a whole ‘nother vibe,” he explained. “It was so crazy… I’m already hooked.”
In other news, Scott will headline Reading & Leeds 2025 this August alongside Bring Me The Horizon, Chappell Roan and Hozier. Find any available tickets here.
