Twin Atlantic share “raw” title track from new album ‘Meltdown’ and announce November UK tour

Speaking about the anthemic and emotionally-charged pop-rock single, lead singer Sam McTrusty explained: “This was one of the easiest songs we’ve ever written as a band.
“It was the last song we added to the album after we felt like a certain flavour was missing, so we wrote this with a real purpose and I think that comes across in the simple nature of all the musical parts that Ross [McNae, bassist] put together.”
He continued: “The track feels really raw and honest, which has always been our mission as a band. With Ross and I being dads of two we are very very familiar with the word meltdown of late.
“All of that being said after a meltdown you have to step back and learn from it and rebuild. Culturally it feels like we are all experiencing that right now so the word and meaning really resonated with the bigger picture of life going on around us when we made the album.”

The forthcoming ‘Meltdown’ record was co-produced by McTrusty and McNae, and mixed by their longtime collaborator Romesh Dodangoda. Per a press release, the album marks a “return to form” for Twin Atlantic.
“Eleven slices of infectious, masterful pop-rock, ‘Meltdown’ is equal parts guitar heavy bangers and emotionally driven heartfelt anthems,” the description notes, adding that the LP has “one foot firmly in nostalgia, while wholeheartedly looking to the future”.
A tracklist for the album has not yet been shared. The title song follows the 2024 singles ‘World Class Entertainment’, ‘Get Out’ and ‘Sorry’.

Last September, Twin Atlantic spoke to NME about their 2023 single ‘Stuck In A Car With You’ and their upcoming “unhinged guitar record”. The track was the band’s first release through Staple Diet Records.
“With this record, we wanted to make something for the fans, and the kids who first started this band,” McTrusty explained. “‘Stuck In A Car With You’ is a no-nonsense, fast-paced rock song that shines a spotlight on the emotion behind it.”
He continued: “Since we released [2011’s] ‘Free’ and [2009’s] ‘Vivarium’, fans have basically been asking us to make those albums again. We’ve never been that excited by revisiting the past, but enough time has passed that it felt interesting to do.”
