‘Ugly Betty’ actor Eric Mabius arrested for battery of a woman

Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius has been arrested for battery and resisting arrest without violence in Florida, with a mugshot of the actor circulating online.

According to reports by TMZ, Mabius was arrested at a bar in Yulee, Florida at around 2am PT yesterday morning (February 20).

The arrest came after Nassau County sheriff’s department responded to a call about a fight at the bar. The sheriff’s deputy reportedly said an “extremely intoxicated” woman was being “obnoxious” and removed from the bar when she “spat on several people”.

Mabius then allegedly “pushed her and another woman to the ground”, before he “got on top of this second woman and pulled her hair, allegedly ripping a handful from her scalp”.

TMZ’s report continues: “When deputies arrived, Eric allegedly became belligerent and refused commands to sit, even walking up behind one deputy … prompting his arrest. Mabius and the drunk woman were both arrested for battery and resisting without violence.”

Mabius was booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center just before 6am. His mug shot appears to show a wound near his right eye.

The actor is most well known for his work on Ugly Betty, where he starred opposite Barbie star America Ferrera’s Betty as fashion magazine editor Daniel Meade. He has also appeared in shows including The O.C., The L Word, Chicago Fire and Blue Bloods.
