Usher postpones ‘Past Present Future’ tour opening show at last minute
Usher postponed the opening night of his ‘Past Present Future’ tour yesterday (August 14), just hours before he was due to arrive on stage.
The R&B star was scheduled to play a sold-out show at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia to kick off the North American leg of the trek.
However, he took to social media shortly before the gig to confirm that he had to reschedule the performance.
“For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” Usher began his statement.
“I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well which is why I have to postpone tonight’s show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal.”
He continued: “You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me.

“The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start. However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best.”
Usher concluded: “My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.”
A representative for the ‘Yeah!’ artist told Variety that he needed additional “time to heal from an unspecified injury”.
At the time of writing, the singer is still set to perform at the same Atlanta venue tomorrow (August 16) and Saturday (17). The North American leg will then continue into late November ahead of Usher’s UK and European tour beginning in spring 2025.
The UK leg features a huge 10 nights at The O2 in London – find any remaining tickets here.
In other news, Usher recently shared the official trailer for his upcoming new concert film, Rendezvous In Paris. The movie is due to be screened in cinemas worldwide between September 12-15.
