Valkyrae’s ‘Minecraft’ movie cameo cut after calling out Jason Momoa’s “disappointing” on-set behaviour
Streamer Valkyrae has confirmed their cameo in A Minecraft Movie has been cut.
Last year, Valkyrae leaked that they would be appearing in the big-screen adaptation of Minecraft alongside a number of other streamers. When A Minecraft Movie hit cinemas last week (April 4), gaming fans spotted popular streamers Daniel DTM, Aphmau, Mumbo Jumbo and LDShadowLady while the film also paid tribute to Technoblade, who passed away in 2022.
However Valkyrae doesn’t appear and over the weekend, the streamer confirmed that she’d been cut from A Minecraft Movie.
“Let’s just say, I’m not going to touch too much on it. As much as you guys saw the other creators that were in it, that would have been the equal amount you would have seen me,” she explained during the stream. “It’s 30 seconds, so it’s okay. It really was a wonderful 10-days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds.”
Responding to fans hating on the film, Valkyrae said: “I thought it was good. I was surprised some people didn’t like it. I think you guys are trolling to make me feel better but it’s a cute Minecraft movie.”

"I would much rather not have 30 seconds than be sued"

Last year during an appearance on JasonThe Ween’s YouTube channel, Valkyrae was asked who she’d worked with that was an asshole. “How do I say this… I have a cameo in A Minecraft Movie and I would have to say Jason Momoa,” she replied.
“I saw him mistreat some of the crew, it was pretty disappointing. It was after an intense, emotional scene so maybe he was still in character but I was surprised by how he treated some of the crew. He was just really mad at them and yelling. This is not a good work environment. That’s the worst celebrity thing I’ve seen.”
Momoa hasn’t commented on the claims.
During her own stream, Valkyrae hinted that those comments were the reason she was cut from A Minecraft Movie. “I would much rather not have that 30 second [cameo] than be sued,” she said. “It really could have been so much worse.”
Despite poor reviews, A Minecraft Movie has become the biggest film of 2025 so far. Fans have also filmed their reactions to the viral “Chicken Jockey” scene, with police reportedly having to get involved with some particularly rowdy cinema audiences.
In other news, Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney has shut down rumours of a Fortnite movie.
