Viagra Boys have shared a brand-new single called ‘Uno II’ – you can listen to it below.

The song will appear on the Stockholm post-punk band’s fourth studio album ‘Viagr Aboys’, which is due for release on April 25 via their own label, Shrimptech Enterprises. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.

“‘Uno II’ redirects vocalist Sebastian Murphy’s take on conspiratorial anxiety – shifting from human meat bags to finding it embodied in his beloved dog,” a description reads.

The singer’s pet, an Italian greyhound, had frequently visited the vets over the course of a year due to dental problems. This led Murphy to wonder what his dog could be thinking – and he put pen to paper.

Murphy explained: “He goes to this place, then wakes up in some weird room, and he’s missing his teeth.”

I seem like such a bitch/ When I talk about Swedish politics,” the frotman sings atop a shuffling drum beat. The tune also boasts whispers of flute and a sweeping electric guitar part.

Embodying his pooch, Murphy states in the first verse: “‘I found a crouton underneath a futon’/ Mamma said, I couldn’t eat it ’cause all my teeth are gone/ My personality is based on food now/ Take it from Bogdan, he’s my veterinarian/ His folks are from Croatia/ They’ve been through some shit, man.”

The single is accompanied by an official music video in which Murphy – portraying a “star reporter” – is sent on assignment to cover a seemingly innocent dog show in Eastern Europe. However, he soon discovers that he is under constant surveillance and being shadowed by some mystery forces. Watch it all unfold above.

‘Uno II’ follows on from Viagra Boys’ recent track ‘Man Made Of Meat’ – which was partly inspired by the band’s experience on the road with Queens Of The Stone Age. They’ll support Josh Homme and co. again this summer at Rock N Roll Circus in Sheffield.

The full tracklist for Viagra Boys’ ‘Viagr Aboys’ is:

‘Man Made of Meat’
‘The Bog Body’
‘Uno II’
‘Pyramid of Health’
‘Dirty Boyz’
‘Medicine for Horses’
‘Waterboy’
‘Store Policy’
‘You N33d Me’
‘Best in Show Pt. IV’
‘River King’

During an interview with NME at last year’s Reading Festival, Viagra Boys explained that their new music would incorporate “a little bit of everything, hopefully”.

“We’re gonna see where it ends up,” Murphy said. “I think there’s a little bit of all sorts of genres in there, hopefully – excluding maybe R&B and stuff like that. There’s a lot of rock.”

He continued: “We want people to not really expect what’s coming. And who knows? Maybe it does sound exactly like it has before, but in my head it doesn’t. Hopefully there are new sounds in there and we’ve definitely taken different approaches to songwriting.”

Viagra Boys will embark on a UK and Ireland headline tour this spring, featuring a gig at the O2 Academy Brixton in London. They have also confirmed shows in North America and Europe, and will appear at Coachella 2025Find any remaining tickets here (UK/Ireland).

NME described Viagra Boys’ previous record, 2022’s ‘Cave World’, as “a grimy time capsule of a truly bizarre era” in a four-star review.

It added: “If the worst of times brings out the worst in people, Viagra Boys are set to be icons of the age, and ‘Cave World’ its defining document. As scientists prepare a time capsule of humanity for future species to find, it’s a shoo-in.”
