Watch Beth Gibbons perform Portishead’s ‘Glory Box’ at Coachella 2025

Portishead‘s Beth Gibbons has performed the band’s classic song ‘Glory Box’ at Coachella 2025 – check it out below.

On Saturday (April 12), Gibbons took to the Gobi Stage at Coachella for her first solo performance at the festival, and first since Portishead’s last showing at Coachella in 2008.

To mark the occasion, Gibbons paid tribute to the iconic Bristol band, playing their classic 1994 tune ‘Glory Box’ towards the end of her set. It marked just the second time she’s ever played the song without Portishead.

Elsewhere during the set – which consisted of 10 songs – Beth Gibbons played majority of the songs from her debut solo album ‘Lives Outgrown’. Besides ‘Glory Box’, the only song she performed that wasn’t taken from ‘Lives Outgrown’ was her 2002 collaboration with Rustin Man, ‘Tom The Model’.

Gibbons is in the midst of her debut solo tour across North America, marking her first time performing since Portishead’s 2011 tour. The tour is in support of her debut solo album ‘Lives Outgrown’.

In a four-star review of the album, NME shared: “On ‘Lives Outgrown’ Gibbons uses this history to her advantage. She cannily foregrounds the weather-beaten gravitas of her vocal at each turn, its familiarity holding us tight so that, in parallel, she can undercut that feeling of safety by continually pointing out the grains of sand falling into the wrong half of the hourglass.” The album also earned the 26th spot on NME‘s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list. 

In other news, Gibbons has announced a London show at the Roundhouse which is set to occur on the same weekend as Glastonbury 2025.  She was also announced as a performer at the 2025 edition of Flow Festival.
