Creed reunited and played their first show in 12 years as part of the “Summer of 99” cruise last night (April 18).

The band – comprised of Scott Stapp, Brian Marshall, Scott Phillips, Mark Tremonti and touring guitarist Eric Friedman – performed a 16-track setlist for the attendees. They opened with their 1999 track ‘Are You Ready?’ and followed that with fan favourites such as ‘Torn’, ‘My Own Prison’, ‘Weathered’ and ‘Faceless Man’.

To end the set, Creed performed their hits ‘With Arms Wide Open’ and ‘Higher’. Stapp took a moment to lead the crowd into a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ in celebration of Tremoni’s 50th birthday. The set wrapped up with an encore of ‘One Last Breath’ and ‘My Sacrifice’.

Creed played:

‘Are You Ready?’
‘Bullets’
‘Torn’
‘My Own Prison’
‘What If’
‘Never Die’
‘Say I’
‘Weathered’ (First time since 2002)
‘Overcome’
‘Faceless Man’
‘One’
‘What’s This Life For’
‘With Arms Wide Open’
‘Higher’ (w/ Happy Birthday to Mark Tremonti afterward)
‘One Last Breath’
‘My Sacrifice’

The last time the band played was on December 2012, during their tour in support of their 2009 LP ‘Full Circle’. That tour followed Creed’s first reunion, after their split in 2004.

The “Summer of 99” cruise will set sail from Miami, Florida and visit Nassau, Bahamas, before returning to Miami on April 22nd. 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Tonic, Vertical Horizon and Fuel are also all set to perform on the ship.

On April 27, Creed will embark on another cruise titled “Summer of ’99 and Beyond” from Orlando, Florida. That line-up will feature Daughtry as well as the other bands from the previous cruise.

Creed are also set to kick off a North American reunion tour later this summer. The tour will take in 40 cities across the continent, and they are set to be the band’s first shows in 12 years. See the full list below and visit here to purchase tickets.

In other news, Stapp recently stated that he has “hope” that Creed will write new material in an interview.

Stapp appeared as a guest on SiriusXM radio show Trunk Nation back in January and shared: “I could see in his eye, and I was feeling it too, that I think there’s gonna be some writing happening and it’s gonna be organic and I think it’s gonna be beautiful, man, if we get back to that place and that chemistry, which I think we’re gonna fall right back into once we start playing these songs together and we reconnect with through our relationships, through the songs that we created together.”

Elsewhere, SZA recently expressed her love for Creed’s and Nickelback’s music despite the bands’ polarising reputation, stating: “Do white people hate Creed and Nickelback? Why? Black people love them! They rock! That shit is bomb!”
