Watch Lil Wayne’s ’90s group Hot Boys reunite in New Orleans

Lil Wayne’s original ‘90s group Hot Boys have reunited in full for the first time since 2008 in New Orleans – check out footage below.

News of the reunion was shared in September, when Wayne took to social media to announce their appearance at the New Orleans festival Lil’ Weezyana.

On Saturday (November 2), the team up happened at the Smoothie King Center, with Wayne, Juvenile, Turk and B.G. joining forces on stage for performances of ‘Get Your Roll On’, ‘I Need a Hot Girl’ and ‘Neighborhood Superstar’, as well as renditions of their respective solo material.

The group have not performed as a full four-piece live unit since 2000. They released three albums together during their original run: ‘Get It How U Live!’ in 1997, followed by ‘Guerrilla Warfare’ two years later and then ‘Let ‘Em Burn’ in 2003, after their split.

B.G. served a 12-year prison sentence from 2012 for gun possession and witness tampering, which followed on from Turk’s own six-year imprisonment for second degree attempted murder in 2005.

In other Wayne news, in September he opened up about not being asked to perform at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in his hometown of New Orleans.

After Kendrick Lamar was confirmed for the slot, Wayne wrote: “That hurt. Hurt a lot, you know what I’m talking about, hurt a whole lot. I blamed myself for not being mentally prepared for a let down which is automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blamed myself for that.”

During the same Lil’ Weezyana show on Saturday, Wayne played a solo set, in which he once again addressed his disappointment at the snub. ““I told myself I wanna be on stage at the Super Bowl in front of my mom and I worked my ass off to get that position and it was ripped away from me but this moment right here… they can’t take this away from me.”
