Watch Netflix’s special teaser trailer for Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’
A special teaser trailer for Adam Sandler‘s Happy Gilmore 2 has been released – check it out below.
Last night (December 25), Netflix released a special teaser for Happy Gilmore 2 as a New Year treat for fans and subscribers. The teaser doesn’t offer up much information for the upcoming Sandler sequel, but includes quick glimpses at returning characters and new cameos.
In the short teaser, we see Sandler’s Gilmore return to partake in a golf tournament. We also get quick shots of Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny, as well as short scenes with Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, the latter two of whom are reprising their roles from the original 1996 film.
The original film starred Sandler as the titular Happy Gilmore, a hockey player with anger management issues who discovers he’s also good at golf. Gilmore enters a golf tournament to win money to save his grandmother’s house, facing off with the arrogant Shooter McGavin along the way. The film also starred Carl Weathers and Bob Barker.
Besides Adam Sandler, Bad Bunny and Travis Kelce, Happy Gilmore 2 will also include Margaret Qualley. Qualley recently revealed that her role was landed by her husband Jack Antonoff, who lied to Sandler that she was a good golfer: “What a good husband. And I can’t golf. He lied for the sake of the family… I never golfed a day in my life. I’m terrible, actually.”
She went on to say the role was “the best thing that’s ever happened to me”. She added: “I’m essentially deep background, but I can die happy now.”
Eminem has also been confirmed to have an “insane” cameo, per Sandler himself. While Sandler did not reveal the role Eminem plays or the extent of the rapper’s involvement in the film’s plot, he said: “Eminem was cool. He came by, he was great. I’ve known Eminem for a long time, he’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell.”
Sandler continued: “I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and he just shot and shot and he was insane. He said a million things we can use and a million that we’re glad we have him on tape.”
A release date for Happy Gilmore 2 has yet to be announced but will arrive in 2025 exclusively via Netflix.
