Watch Taylor Swift’s reaction to swallowing a bug mid-show in Milan
Taylor Swift was caught off-guard while performing in Milan this weekend, when she ended up swallowing a bug mid-song – see her reaction below.
During the surprise songs segment of her ‘Eras’ tour show on Saturday (July 13)at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, Italy, Swift accidentally swallowed a big mid-mashup which caused a tiny pause in the show as the singer quickly dealt with the situation.

“Swallowed another one… I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight,” she told the crowd in between coughs to dislodge the insect from her throat: “I just need to cough a little bit.”
The matter was quickly resolved and the audience had a quick chuckle at the incident. However, the next day (Sunday), would prove to be more challenging for the singer as she faced a more troubling issue: her piano wasn’t working properly.
Mashing up ‘Getaway Car’ with ‘Out Of The Woods’ on piano on Sunday in Milan, she quickly realised that her piano wasn’t sounding right. “You know what, we finally broke it. We have finally broken this thing,” quipped Swift while she and a crew member tinkered with the instrument.

‘The Tortured Poets Department’ scored a three-star review from NME upon its release, with Laura Molloy writing: “The pitfalls that mire her 11th studio album are all the more disappointing — she’s proven time and time again she can do better. To a Melbourne audience of her Eras Tour, Swift said that ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ came from a “need” to write. It’s just that maybe we didn’t need to hear it.”
Swift is currently on the European leg of her career-spanning ‘Eras’ tour, which is due to end this December.
Last month, NME gave Swift’s first Edinburgh show of the tour a glowing five-star review, writing: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community. Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’).
“It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch, but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family. With The Eras Tour, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”
