The Libertines have recorded a performance as holograms for the new Live Odyssey music experience in Camden. Watch an exclusive preview on NME above.

Live Odyssey is described as “a celebration of the rich tapestry of British music, offering a unique experience for music lovers of all ages” through “a groundbreaking tribute to the sounds that shaped Britain”.

The immersive and interactive experience will be opening in Camden in May 2025, promising state-of-the-art technology with the raw spirit of live performance through “a two-and-a-half-hour musical adventure that captures the evolution of British music, from the early anthems of the ’60s and ’70s to the Britpop glory of the ’90s and the defining sounds of today”.

Each room within the venue immerses guests in a different musical era, meticulously crafted to relive the sights and sounds that defined each decade. The experience is enriched by curated setlists and a few surprises designed to make each visit memorable.

A highlight of Live Odyssey is the Hologram productions, a state-of-the-art space using groundbreaking holographic technology to create iconic shows by legendary British artists. To mark the launch, Live Odyssey will feature a special and never seen before holographic live performance by The Libertines, showcasing the unforgettable experiences that await guests.

As well as exclusive memorabilia, previously unseen live footage and unique photography will be holographic performances – including one of The Libertines in their iconic red tunics.

“This is something truly special. Performing in Camden for this project brought everything full circle for us,” The Libertines’ Carl Barât told NME. “Knowing it will live on as part of Live Odyssey is truly exciting—it’s a tribute to the music that shaped us and the fans who’ve supported us.”

Bandmate Pete Doherty added: “British music thrives on its history and its ability to evolve. Being part of this is thrilling – it’s like stepping into the future while paying homage to the past.”

Unseen behind-the-scenes footage and photography from the holographic shoot will also be unveiled as part of the Live Odyssey experience, giving fans an intimate look at the band’s creative process. Watch exclusive footage of The Libertines recording their performance below.

Gary Prosser of Live Odyssey described the new experience “more than just a venue”.

“It’s a journey into British music’s storied past,” he said. “By combining hologram performances from iconic UK acts with breathtaking live performances, we aim to bridge generations of music lovers, offering a nostalgic and unique experience.”

Live Odyssey will also be supported by the Music Venue Trust with a portion of ticket sales donated to their mission to keep grassroots gig spaces alive and thriving, whilst exclusive merchandise sales will go towards supporting UK venues directly.

Pete Doherty recently announced details of his new solo album ‘Felt Better Alive‘, due for release on May 16, along with his ‘Anywhere In Albion’ UK tour in March before a run of ‘Felt Better Alive In Europe’ dates. Tickets are available here.

Meanwhile, Doherty has also teased that a Babyshambles reunion “is on the cards” for 2025.
