What is the plot of Gyeongseong Creature season two?
As teased in the season one finale, Gyeongseong Creature season two will be set in present-day Seoul, nearly 80 years after the events from the first season.
The new season will follow Yoon Chae-ok, who survives Spring 1945 in Gyeongseong after consuming the Najin. She crosses paths with Jang Ho-jae, a man who bears an eerie resemblance to her lover and pawn shop owner Jang Tae-sang from 1945.
The new season will focus on their fateful connection and the mystery behind Chae-ok’s survival, Ho-jae’s connection to Tae-sang and the scientific developments surrounding the Najin in the years that have passed.
Who is in the cast of Gyeongseong Creature season two?
Han So-hee reprises her role as Yoon Chae-ok, who mysteriously remains youthful in season two of Gyeongseong Creature. Park Seo-joon also returns to the new season as Jang Ho-jae, a man who looks exactly like season one’s Jang Tae-sang.
Joining the cast are Lee Mu-saeng (The Silent Sea, Maestra: Strings of Truth) and Bae Hyeon-seong (Hospital Playlist, Our Blues) as the Kuroko Leader and Seung-jo respectively. The Kurokos are an elite secret operative working on a mission in the Jeonseung Biotech lab. Meanwhile, Seung-jo relentlessly pursues Chae-ok and Ho-jae for reasons yet to be revealed.
Is there a trailer for the upcoming season of the Netflix K-drama?
On August 28, Netflix gave viewers a first look at the new season with an action-packed trailer. The clip opens with the events of season one flashing through Chae-ok’s mind as she sinks below the lake. In present-day Seoul, Chae-ok embraces Ho-jae, asking how he survived, but backs away when she realises he is not Tae-sang.
Research into the Najin is shown to have continued into the present day, taking place in the modern Jeongseung Biotech labs. The Kurokos, who appear to possess superhuman speed and strength make a brief appearance, though they seem to be no match for Chae-ok. “So, it’s not over then. This hell,” she narrates.
The full trailer for Season two, alongside a video that provided a deeper dive into the show’s universe, was released on September 12. The trailer teases the intense fight scenes that await our protagonists, alongside a look at the monsters and villains they will have to face.
