Netflix has released a new trailer for its upcoming K-drama series The Potato Lab, starring Kang Tae-oh and Lee Sun-bin. Here’s everything you need to know about the new series.
What is the plot of The Potato Lab?
Set in a potato research centre in a mountain valley, the new Netflix K-drama centres on Kim Mi-gyeong, a passionate potato researcher recognised by the town for her 12-year tenure and friendliness. They describe her as a person crazy about potatoes, and only know vaguely of the top-secret project she’s working on at the institute.
When So Baek-ho, a practical businessman, arrives in town and comes on board at the research centre as its new director, she finds herself at odds with her new supervisor at first, but gradually warms up to him as they get to know each other as people both in and out of work.
Who is in the cast of the new Netflix series?
Boyhood’s Lee Sun-bin will star as Mi-gyeon, while Kang Tae-oh stars alongside her as Baek-ho. Notably, his appearance on the new K-drama will mark his first acting project since he was discharged from his military service in early 2024.
Other members of the show’s supporting cast include Newtopia and Decision To Leave‘s Lee Hak-joo, King The Land’s Kim Ga-eun, Han River Police‘s Shin Hyun-seung, Moon In The Day’s Jung Sin-hye and more.
Is there a trailer for Netflix’s The Potato Lab?
Netflix released the official trailer for the upcoming K-drama on February 18. The clip details the arrival of Baek-ho to the research centre as its latest director, his rigid attitude towards work and his initial friction with Mi-gyeong. Despite his rough start, he eventually warms up to Mi-gyeong and the rest of the team, and sparks fly.
