Wayne Rooney dresses up as ‘Mrs Doubtfire’ on viral date night to see musical
Wayne Rooney dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire during a date night with his wife Coleen to see the musical, and the images have gone viral.
The couple headed to the theatre last night (January 15) to see the comedy musical, based on the much-loved 1994 Robin Williams film, and Coleen shared images from the evening via her Instagram Stories.
Alongside a shot of her and Wayne standing in front of the theatre, she wrote: “Really enjoyed the show… Amazing cast, lots of laughs throughout!”
She then shared a peek of the pair going backstage after the show, and Wayne getting to try on the Mrs. Doubtfire prosthetic shoulders, face and hair – including a wig of her signature grey quiff.
The video shows the costume being put over her husband’s head, with her and the crew laughing in the background, and the caption: “And lots of laughs afterwards!!!!”
Both Rooneys have been in the news recently. Earlier this month, Wayne was sacked as manager of Plymouth Argyle football club after struggling to get results for the side.
Coleen was a contestant on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in December 2024, making it all the way to the final, but came second to McFly singer and guitarist Danny Jones. In the wake of the show, she’s rumoured to be lining up a new TV deal, including a potential fly-on-the-wall reality series.
