What’s Your Favorite New Music Release of the Week? Vote!
Spring has sprung, and today’s biggest stars are keeping the weather warm with hot new releases.
Kicking things off is Miley Cyrus, who is continuing the roll-out of her upcoming Something Beautiful with her new single, “End of the World.” Cyrus teased the upcoming project in a trailer that described it as “one of a kind pop opera” as well as a “unique visual experience fueled by fantasy.”
Ed Sheeran also is working on a new album era, dropping a new single called “Azizam.” As Sheeran explained on The Tonight Show last week, “Azizam” means “my dear” in Farsi, inspired by producer Illya Salmanzadeh’s Persian heritage. The four-time Grammy winner has been teasing the song for weeks, unveiling a snippet on Instagram in mid-March and revealing at the time, “Album done. Single soon. I’m very excited as you can tell.” The track will appear on Play, the first in his next album series. The next albums will be called Pause, Rewind, Fast-Forward and Stop.
ENHYPEN continued the pop fun this week with their new single “Loose,” marking the group’s first release of 2025. The track is described by their label Belift Lab as a “seductive track with a cutting-edge pop sound”.
Longtime friends Elton John and Brandi Carlile teamed up for a new collaborative album, Who Believes in Angels?, which the duo recorded over 20 days starting in October 2023. The pair wrote and created the album with John’s long-time co-writer Bernie Taupin and producer Andrew Watt. Who Believes in Angels? features previously released singles “Swing for the Fences,” “Never Too Late” and the title track.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Other releases this week include Sexyy Red’s “Hoochie Coochie,” Djo’s The Crux, Lainey Wilson’s “Bell Bottoms Up” and Scowl’s Are We All Angels.
