When is ‘Invincible’ season four coming out?
The third season of Invincible is in the books, but when can fans expect to see season four? Read on for all the answers.
The Amazon Prime Video animated series is an adaptation of the Image Comics series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Kirkman oversees the show alongside showrunner Simon Racioppa.
Steven Yeun voices the lead character Mark Grayson, who transforms into a superhero Invincible under the guidance of his father Nolan, aka Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). As Mark navigates personal struggles and superhero duties, he learns of a sinister conspiracy that threatens the world as he knows it.
The third season premiered on the streaming service on February 6, with the eighth and final episode arriving last Thursday (March 13). The season finale, titled I Thought You’d Never Shut Up, is one of the highest rated television episodes of all time, achieving a 9.9 out of 10 rating on IMDb.
It saw Invincible face off against Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a powerful Viltrumite, in a brutal battle that threatened the planet. Meanwhile, Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), recovering from a coma, joined the battle to aid Mark.
Kirkman has also confirmed a big budget Invincible game is in the works, saying recently: “I don’t know what I can say…It’s definitely cool. I don’t even know if I can say how much of it I’ve seen. I’m gonna play it safe and just say, from what I have seen, I am more excited than I’ve been about anything involving Invincible.”
When is Invincible season four coming out?
Three months after the second half of season two of Invincible aired in March 2024, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that the show had been recommissioned for a fourth season.
The official announcement was made during Prime Video’s adult animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con in July last year.
There is no confirmed release date for season four yet, but Kirkman has said that he does not want to see a delay as long as fans were subjected to between seasons one and two – which was two and a half years.
Only ten months separated seasons two and three, so it is possible that Invincible may be back in early 2026.
Production on the new season has already begun, and in March, Kirkman told The Direct: “Right now, the focus is making sure that the show comes out as regularly as possible, and we’re trying not to have any distractions that are going to keep us from that. So right now, the focus has been getting Season Three wrapped up, getting Season Four wrapped up. Hopefully, once those are all tied up, we’ll have some time to figure out how to do a little bit more, but we may not. I don’t know, we’ll see.”
