FX announced the show’s end in December last year. During a panel at the Television Critics Association in February (via Screen Rant), FX chairman John Landgraf briefly stated that it was because ‘the show came to a natural conclusion’.
As for the cast, Matt Berry believes it was ‘the right decision’ to end the show now. Speaking to TV Insider, he said: “I think you should always stop when something is [still] good… and that’s what we’ve done. I think it was the right decision.”
Speaking about the show’s end, Mark Proksch said: “It’s hard to say goodbye to a good show that people appreciate, and I’m certainly going to miss the people that I got to work with, but I’m also excited about moving on and seeing what the future holds.”
