The moment took place during one of Usher’s 10 headline shows at The O2 arena in London earlier this month, as part of his massive ‘Past Present Future’ tour.
During the gig on April 2, the R&B icon broke out the segment where he sings his 2010 track ‘There Goes My Baby’, and walks through the audience handing out cherries to women in the audience. However, this time around, it was the particularly intense moment between himself and a fan that got a bigger reaction than usual, with footage of the interaction going viral.
As seen in clips shared to TikTok, the ‘Yeah!’ singer went up to a woman in the audience and made eye contact, leaning in towards her and singing. Things then went a step further when he held out two cherries and dangled them over her mouth, where she then began to seductively eat them in front of him.
Since then, one clip of the moment alone has gathered over 700,000 likes on TikTok, and the fan has been identified as Jimalita Tillman, who came to see the singer in London after travelling all the way from Chicago.
In a new interview with her hometown’s WGN9, the fan explained what the interaction meant to her, and acknowledged the viral rumours that the sultry moment with the R&B giant led to her getting a divorce shortly after the show.

“When he came around with those cherries, I said, ‘Well, life is a bowl of cherries, I’ll take one, maybe two,'” she said, explaining that some people online have given her the nickname “Aunty Cherry”.
“He wasn’t even supposed to stop where we were! It was magnetic,” she added. “I brought out all the Broadway magic that I had, but it was easy! He has a magnetic personality.”
When asked about the divorce rumours, she replied: “That is completely false. I am single. I am a retired homeschool mom looking to expand the arts here and across the pond. I am single. You got a cherry, give me a jingle. I am embracing the moment. The moment was beautiful. But when it comes to fan fiction or whatever that story is that’s out there, I am single. I am so happy the way Chicago has been supporting me.”

This isn’t the first time that Usher’s shenanigans with the cherries have led to him getting fans talking. Towards the end of last year, when he wrapped up the US dates before heading across the pond, the singer went viral again after looking horrified by one fan’s performance.
For the majority of the clip, he was seen standing frozen in place, before the camera turned around and showed him looking disturbed by what he just witnessed.
Shortly before then, it was the singer’s security guard who went viral for his reaction to the new trend. In a clip circulating across social media, a fan zoomed in on the bodyguard’s face as another crowd member seemingly performed with a cherry for the musician.

The tour comes after Usher took his career to new heights last spring, delivering a huge performance at the 58th annual Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Since then, the singer has shared the official trailer for his new concert film, Rendezvous In Paris, over the summer, ahead of its release in September. He also dropped his latest album ‘Coming Home’, which featured collaborations with Summer Walker, 21 Savage, H.E.R., BTS’s Jungkook, Burna Boy, Latto and more.
