Yandel Inks Global Publishing Admin Deal With Warner Chappell Music
Reggaetón icon Yandel has signed a worldwide publishing administration deal with Warner Chappell Music, the company announced on Thursday (Feb. 13).
The hitmaker joins the publishing company after signing a recording deal with Warner Music Latina in September 2023, which marked his first deal with a major label after releasing albums via his own company, Y Entertainment. The deal comes on the heels of his recently announced Yandel Sinfónico World Tour, set to kick off at El Coliseo de Puerto Rico in May.
“I am really excited to join Warner Chappell Music, and I am looking forward to creating groundbreaking content,” Yandel said about his new deal in a statement. “I’m counting on their experience and the innovative opportunities they bring to music creators everywhere.”
“It’s a pleasure to welcome such a legendary artist like Yandel,” added Gustavo Menéndez, president of U.S. Latin and Latin America, A&R at Warner Chappell Music. “His impact goes beyond music; he’s become a cultural ambassador, evolving with the times while staying true to reggaeton’s roots. He continues to inspire and elevate the genre, and it’s a privilege to partner with him in pushing the boundaries of Latin music.”
After countless hits as part of reggaetón pioneering duo Wisin & Yandel, including “Abusadora,” “Pam Pam” and “Rakata,” Yandel launched his solo career in 2013. In addition to 2003’s Quien Contra Mí — a solo album released prior to Wisin & Yandel’s 2013 hiatus — he’s released a total of 11 solo albums, including his latest, ELYTE, which peaked at No. 15 on Billboard‘s Latin Rhythm Albums chart.
“Yandel is a pioneer whose impact on reggaeton and Latin music overall is undeniable,” said Laz Hernandez, senior vp of A&R at Warner Chappell Music. “As a songwriter, artist and creative genius, he has helped shape the sound of a generation. We are honored to support him as he continues to pen powerful songs and leave an impact as one of the genre’s most influential figures.”
