YG and His 4Hunnid Label Partner With BMG
YG has agreed to a multi-album partnership deal with BMG under his 4Hunnid record label, it was announced today (April 3).
“BMG is making big waves in the industry right now,” YG tells Billboard. “This partnership will take my music to new heights. The BMG team understands the vision for my music and business. Excited for what’s to kome and the future of my brand.”
During his six-album run, YG previously called Def Jam Recordings and Epic Records home. Within that span, YG found success, notching four Hot 100 top 20 hits, most notably 2013’s “My Hitta” and 2016’s “Big Bank.” He also churned out five Billboard 200 top 10 albums, with his best opening week coming in 2014 with his debut album, My Krazy Life.
“Our partnership with YG isn’t just about music; it’s about expressing his voice, embracing his vision, supporting his entrepreneurship, and helping amplify his next movement,” says Tim Reid, BMG svp of repertoire & marketing.
Dan Gill, the label’s evp of recorded music, adds: “Cultivating the best in creativity and music, our mission is artist independence without conformity. YG has a true partner by his side in BMG.”
For the last three years, YG has been busy churning out music. In 2021, he released his collaborative album Kommunity Service with Mozzy. The following year, he dropped his solo effort, I Got Issues. In 2023, he returned once again and partnered with Tyga to release Hit Me When U Leave the Klub: The Playlist. The 14-track offering featured Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and Blxst.
