Dev Patel is making his directorial debut in the action-packed, high-intensity thriller, Monkey Man, arriving on Peacock on Thursday (June 14).
The Oscar-nominated actor stars as Kid, a young man making a meager living as a masked fighter in a bloody, underground fight club in India. According to the film description, after discovering a way to “infiltrate the city’s corrupt elite,” Kid sets out on a revenge plot to “settle the score with the men who took everything from him as a boy.”
The cast of Monkey Man includes Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sikandar Kher and Makarand Deshpande.
Monkey Man is inspired by the Indian animated series, The Legend of Hanuman. Patel came up with the concept and co-wrote the screenplay for Monkey Man. He also produced the movie along with Jordan Peele, Jomon Thomas, Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christine Haebler and Anjay Nagpal.
